Cabinetry Finishes

We offer techniques to refinish cabinetry without the costly expense of replacement. We achieve professional results using the latest spray equipment. As a final step protective topcoats are applied which meet the durability and chemical resistance standards set forth by the Furniture, Kitchen and Millwork Association.

Techniques include:

  • Adding glaze to existing finishes (including thermo molded doors) accentuating design and details
  • Repainting combined with glazing to change the color scheme.
  • Distressing of wood and finish.
  • Special detailing such as stenciling, faux marquetry, textures, gilding and Chinoiserie to turn plain cabinetry into focal points

These photos are typical of the transformation possible from plain white cabinetry to cabinetry which has been color co-ordinated with paint and glaze. This includes the melamine or thermo-molded cabinets in the picture on the left. Glazing brings out the details of the cabinet door and adds a subtle patina to the base color. In the photo to the right the copper tiles were originally white tiles. Using a specialty primer, metallic paints and glaze products developed by Faux Effects we were able to update them at lower cost and less mess than replacement.
